Hi all,
I missed the earlier part of this thread, so forgive me if I repeat
what others have already said ... a cheap Video card with an onboard
VGA connector will solve this, a 16MB PCI rage Pro costs about US$10-20
and works better then onboard video, a Radeon 7000 will cost you US$30,
and give you a bit more bite. (ah, the prices are current ebay
auctions, some BIN).
I'd forget about adapters and/or software, just get a cheap video card
with VGA connector.

determine the resolution. if its a switchless one, you need software

I had this problem with my Beige and ViewSonic going through an
adapter, I didn't even realize there was a choice until I replaced it
with a Mac 21 Multiscan and put the ViewSonic on my PC! The problem is
definitely with the adapter being used, but it didn't bother me too
much as I still had the standard Mac resolution available.
