Yes, you can do all the multimedia stuff on a Mac, but with different apps, & some degree of hardware savvy. I think what he's refering to is 1 single no-brainer program to be the "media center"...Apple has been talking about moving in that direction for almost a decade -- more if you recall the Pippin, or for that matter the MacTV -- which was more of a proof-of-concept than anything else.
