Weird problem!!!
Beige MiniTower, 400MHz G4, 768 ram

Can get to OF prompt using "Opt, Command,'O','F'"

Reset-nvram does NOT return OK --- I get 'unknown word'

set-defaults returns OK
reset-all restarts, as expected.

Any Ideas????

Can start and run successfully OS9.1, OS9.2.2, OSX.2.8

So what am I wanting? to get the "Chime" back. Sound seems to work.

Chuck D.

I've been meaning to post the same problem. Mine is a beige MT running at 466 and will boot the same systems as above in addition to 10.1.X.

Mine still has the chime, but has definite problems on the boot disk for 10.2.8, not sure if that's related.
