Thanks for the assistance. I set it to slave, the computer booted
normally, but the drive did not mount. And when trying to test it Disk
Utility reported a "Failure on exit", and also could not mount the
drive. I have a lot of data on that drive and dont want to erase it. I
may set up my beige because I believe the beige booted OK off of it. I
also will try different cables to eliminate the possibility of a bad
cable doing this.
I believe the reason for this failure to be that I went several years
without de fragging the HD. Norton Utility would not work because it
said I was missing a file that actually wasnt missing, so I was SOL for
a defragging program.
