Had I known then what I know now I would have shot everything in Kodachrome, because the slide looks just like it did 36 years ago. I shot quite a bit of Ectachrome and it is starting to loose its snap color wise, even the slides that I have kept in a cabinet all these years. I was in a unique position being in charge of going into the villages around our base each day and giving medical and dental help to the people that lived there. That said, most of my memories from then were very positive, although the trips I took on helicopters to bring back wounded from the field were about as negative as it gets. The Pentax glass from then was nothing less than wonderful, with the Super Takumar lenses being SMC and using great glass in their construction. My 500mm from over there is a f/4.5 for heavens sake, that is fast even by today's standards, even though it is very large. I took my camera everywhere I went and I even got a second body for B&W film, which is why I have hundreds of slides and negatives from 1969 which all bring me back. -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
