Once more I write this group concerning the G-3 All-In-One I am working
on for a student. I am about to replace the hard drive since I suspect
strongly that is the problem. When it was working, the student had a
program which would speak back to him the words he had typed. I can
find no program specifically for that on this critter. Is there a
utility on OS 8.1 which would do this in a text editor or something?
This student is autistic and hearing the computer speak to him is
something very special to him. I would like to help him out if I can.
If it is not a utility on the system, does anyone know a program which
could do this?
I don't know if this meets your needs, but there's a control panel
called "HearIt" that will speak aloud selected text by pressing
Control-H.

I've used it under 8.1, and it still works under 9.2.2.
