Len; I must apologize to you and the list.
These old eyes are not as good as once they were. Having a bit of a
problem digesting the information I was receiving I decided to take the
card out of the B&W and check it up close and personal and found it to
be an Acard 6280 which I am sure will give me a whole other set of
spec.'s. Anyway thank you everyone for all your help in this matter and
next time i will do the up close and personal check before i believe
what my eyes have read in system profiler.
Having read the spec.'s on the Acard 6280 I can see that it will be the
perfect card for this machine and for me.
Thanks again everyone.
Brad

The 6280M and 6880M are nearly identical. The only difference is that the 6880M has the hardware RAID feature. Otherwise they are the same. They are even the same hardware, except that the 6880M has that little two switch DIP switch.

Oh, the other difference is that the 6280M retails for about $60 and the 6880M retails for about $120. :-) PC versions of the same cards are $28 and $45 respectively.

So all the advice, except the stuff about RAIDs applies to your actual situation.
