Ubuntu also uses yaboot. And I am also displeased with it. On
startup, if you dont choose Mac OS X, Ununtu, or CD within like 5
seconds it defaults with Ubuntu. And Ubuntu takes quite a while to load
on startup. That could be due to the fact that my SCSI disk may only
transfer at a maximum of 10MB/s, Im not sure of its exact speed. Could
be anywhere from 5MB/s to 20MB/s. Anyway, if I could get yaboot to wait
longer for input and/or default to Mac OS X I would be much happier.
Things Ive learned so far: The CD Player skips (at regular intervals).
By the way I should note that there may be a discrepancy between my
actual bus speed and what my system thinks it is. If that is happening,
it could cause some problems. Any way the graphics dont refresh
smoothly, which could partly be due to the fact that I cant get my
monitor to do more than 60Hz under Ubuntu. But that is certainly not
the entire reason. I am totally lost as to what all the different
directories are used for.
Now on to the good: I haven't experienced any hangs like occasionally
happens under Mac OS X (though I haven't pushed this nearly as hard as I
have Mac OS X). Supports a lot of common hardware, such as all new ATTO
SCSI cards, older Adaptecs such as the 2930 I am using, and it
recognizes and apparently utilizes well my Radeon 9200. Also, its free,
and very stable.

Well thats much of what Ive learned so far.
