I currently have a wired network in my house for my wife's and my Macs. We're connected to a cable modem via an older Linksys 4-port router/switch. We recently bought our twin teenage boys 400MHz Indigo iMacs. Running ethernet cables to their rooms is problematic and I am looking at inexpensive wireless solutions. I know I could go with Apple Airport cards with a base station connected to the router but that would be close to $400 (4 times as much as the iMacs combined).
I was looking at USB wireless adapters and was hoping one of you have some opinions on which ones are better or Mac compatible. Are their third-party solutions for an Airport card? And, what options do I have besides an Apple base station? I realize the iMacs only have USB 1.1 and that will slow their connection but I don't care about that. I also wouldn't have a problem with a 802.11b solution. Any and all opinions or comments are welcome. Thanks in advance. Rick -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
