Were those "last four" suddenly DOA? The B&W was holding time and date fine, unlike the two machines I tried this morning, which didn't retain date settings but did power up fine.

The last four Macs that I have worked on the wouldn't power on were due to a dead PRAM battery. I'm talking about the physical battery on the MoBo, not resetting the PRAM, to clarify my earlier statement. Maybe it's just me, but I've yet to encounter a failed power supply in a Mac, which is not to imply that it couldn't happen, of course. As always, YMMV.
