Hello All:

Is it possible that a CD that is readable by Acrobat Reader on a Windows machine CANNOT be read by Acrobat Reader on our Macintosh computers? By OS X Panther/Tiger Preview? I have never had this happen to me.

I belong to a genealogical society that is producing CDs, made to order, based on a given surname. The data comes from a well known and highly trusted research institute. But the society folks are not Mac-literate.

The brochure advertising the CD production capability says that the CD runs on MS Windows 95 through XP SP2. But catch this: "NOTE: There is no Mac edition."

Should I believe this, or can I safely take a chance? The CDs are not cheap!

Many Thanks,

Al Poulin
