Monitors have internal analog adjustments for R, G, and B gain. They are set up at the factory to some kind of standard that even includes the direction the monitor is pointing in Earth's magnetic field. They drift with time. Magnetization of the steel inside the monitor affects things. Electron output of the filament which decays with usage is a consideration. Software color calibration helps but is not a complete substitute for the internal adjustments. If you have guts, and the muscular acuity to avoid the 25 or so kilovolts inside, the adjustments are usually identified and available. There may even be holes in the cover for an insulated screwdriver. -- --> On the eighth day, about 6 kiloyears ago, the Lord realized that free will would make man ask what existed before the Creation. So He installed a few gigayears of history complete with a big bang and a fossilized record of evolution. <-- -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
