Subject: [G] Tiger ate my keyboard and snacked on my mouse!

Another day on OS X, and another bizarre behavior...

 300-MHz SmurfTower, 384 MB RAM, Tiger.3

I'm using my fav ADB Datadesk Switchboard (left-handed people are in
their right mind), and a Kensington USB Mouse (optical, two buttons,
scroll wheel). No kensington software installed.

For the 2nd time now, I've lost control of the system! Couldn't type
letters into windows. cmd-w etc didn't close windows. Basically,
the keyboard stopped working. Then I noticed menus not dropping as
quickly as normal when I use the left mouse button. But they're fast
for the right mouse button. And when I use the scroll wheel, things
 scroll horizontally not vertically???!!!

What did I do to cause this?

The only way to clear it I've found is to actually shutdown and
 reboot... ???!!! :(

Sounds like too little ram for tiger to me... (and processing power) but I
can't say if it is related to your prob, maybe it is some sort of revolt at
being starved...

Tiger's stomach grumbleing.

I donno. Very strange problem.

DIMM is on my list of things to get. Gotta pay for a few "sudden" Black Friday purchases first tho.
