This may be considered off topic here, but I trust you all to be fairly
forthcoming with answers.
I need to finally get the other company into the 90s. They are a pretty
basic furniture delivery and installation company that works with
stores and designers, not many end users and are pretty low tech- their
accounting system is a dos based, not even windows. I will need to
throw up a 3-5 page basic info site and will need about 5 email
addresses for them. No web commerce, no fancy dancing Hampton and the
Hampsters (to the dismay of my daughters), just basic static info pages.
1and1.com SEEMS to have a decent service package for $2.99 month. Also,
the included website tools appear to be able to do what I need. They
also seem to have some financial backing (2 page adds in Wired are not
cheap) and I do not want to be changing hosting companies every year.
Anyone have experience with them or other cheap hosting companies
(fatcow??) that they could recommend or tell me to avoid?
As of now, nothing they do is so time critical that I am not concerned
with the difference between 99.99999% and just 99.91% uptime.
Thanks, and do not hesitate to email me off list if you prefer.
