Oops, yes... Doesn't make much sense otherwise :) I've fixed this little 'problem' quite a few times on various machines - some IDE controllers don't have a problem, others do, which is the reason I'm aware of it. It appears fairly undocumented by WD themselves and I'm still left wondering why their drives don't behave the same way as all the other on the market!
