I solved my label printing problems with the Dymo Lavelwriter 400 turbo, a stand alone printer that works perfectly with my Mac. I can print one label at a time of as many as I want from lists I prepare.
Printing less than a full sheet was a real pain with my laser printer because it then left an open spot on the sheet, where adhesive can get into the printing mechanics.
