Hello Glen.

Of course. Other upgrades, perhaps the most effective, are motherboards. In the Wintel world, it requires (for sanity) a reinstall of the OS and apps, but other than the investment in time, it is painless and straightforward most times. I installed yesterday my old Dual PIII in my non-work computer. Took most of the day but we started 2006 with a fairly capable computer for video editing (2 x 1 GHz PIIIs). Love to see both almost maxed at 90+% when editing cooking shows.

In the Mac world, motherboard upgrades are virtually non-existent. Replacement MBs from Apple are not cost-effective and they won't probably fit or be compatible with your existing HW.

Of course, LEMmings do swap MBs, but that's cost-effective with cheap, old hardware.

Best regards.
