Just wanted to let you all know that my G3 problems were solved, and the G3 is now working after 1 1/2 months down!
I actually don't yet know whether or not the old HD is still good, and I'll check it at a later date, but I'm happy to be able to email at home instead of at work! I had had problems with an HD, so I got a new one from ebay, then was getting a blinking question mark when trying to boot from the OS 9 CD. A fellow G-lister offered to help me by phone and we went through a few things - turns out that since my CD-RW drive was set to slave and was on its own cable, it wouldn't boot up. Set it from slave to master, and it was happy. And, I have a new pram battery and clean connectors on my RAM, as those were part of the previous suggestions. Thanks *everybody* who helped on this!!!
