FYI: I set up a Mail Rule: Any mail that arrives from [EMAIL PROTECTED] is now automatically sent into the trash. I find his postings to be always negative and always criticizing my favorite computer platform. I can still see what he has to say in your replies to his posts but I don't care to read his initial rants. I'm distressed that it had to come to this and I'm really sorry that he can't seem to come to the realization that not one thing he has to say is going to sway Apple in it's new chosen course. I know that this change is going to affect him financially but maybe he needs to adjust his plan of operations. The Mac is Still going to be the Mac. The OS is the thing that makes it so. OS X is not going away and is only going to get better. Whether you want to call it OS X, Unix, BSD or *nix....it a very stable, safe dependable OS. Having come from the Windows World, I can certainly vouch for and appreciate this. Please, [EMAIL PROTECTED], know I bear you no ill-will, but I just cannot take reading another negative post from you.....thus the mail filter.

Um, X _is_ a *nix.<

Actually, OS X is, in fact legally allowed to use the Unix name (the stupid trademark stuff (and RMS rants) being typically why it's referred to as *nix)

<Not necessarily. They could embrace the open-source movement and that thing called The Internet a bit more... Offer OS X unsupported, without the bs to make it "only run on a Mac".<

Watch your revenues crash as you yank the rug out of over half of your revenues. Apple becomes an iPod only company. The stock tanks, shareholders revolt, and Steve Jobs rues the day he ever listened to darm0k.

Bruce, you made me laugh out loud on that one. Can't quite figure 'ol Dan out. Works on macs and PC's for clients, is a member of this list, knows his stuff but always seems somewhat bitter towards Apple, at least since OS X. (And speaking of Apple stock... holy crap! Doubles in past three months!)

Dan? What gives? Apple apparently has not turned into the company you wanted it to be. Five years ago I don't think any one on this list would have envisioned the current product line and marketing.
