I have a chance to acquire an Apple LaserWriter Pro cheap, but I don't think this vintage of laser printer has any USB or FireWire connections, does it? If I get it, is there any way to connect it to my G4, running 10.3.9?

Make sure there is an OSX driver for your LaserWriter Pro. There is none for our Laserwriter IINTX which has orphaned it for us. For connecting it to our ethernet network we used a Localtalk/Ethernet bridge which is currently sitting on a shelf. If you get the LW Pro and would like to buy the device, drop me a message offline.

Postscript drivers are native in OS X. It will print to any postscript printer (but sometimes not will all the printer specific options) that it can see. I have a IIG which has an AAUI ethernet connector that when I hooked up to our network, my beige running 10.2.8 saw, had the drivers built in and printed to just fine. IIRC, the NTX has an AAUI port on it, you may want to try that.
