Fair enough, that. The signs were there, but my eyes were focused on value
more than quality. I'm glad to be in the G4 club now, anyway. I love having
something inexpensive to tinker with, and being able stay with Macs at the
same time. I've drooled over many a MacConnection catalog, dreaming of these
gorgeous towers. (I think the MDDs are the best designed, but they just cost
a wee bit much still.) Looks like I'll need some new RAM. Can anyone
recommend a good dealer? One of the cards I pulled out of my new comp was
the cheapie 8 chip variety, guess I should avoid those given the history of
problems.
On the topic of upgrades, I thought that it wasn't possible to upgrade a
466/533 with a cpu from a 677/733 (according to the LEM spec sheet for
digital audios). Also, does anyone here consider sonnet or powerlogix (or
other similar) upgrades to be decent, or do you think processor swapping is
the best way to go?
