    Depends upon the transfer speed of the data supply really - 802.11b is
rated at around 11Mbps as I remember - USB 1.1 at 12Mbps. I use 802.11b for
an internet connection rated at 2Mbps (256KB per sec down but a dismally
asymmetric 32KB per sec up - both minus overheads of course) - well within
the rating of 802.11b and USB 1.1. Higher rated connections are necessary if
you have really speedy internet or you wish to connect to a lan or wan which
supplies data at whistling speeds - though ethernet is the usual option for
these and much easier to source and setup with dhcp.
    I found torrenting via Azureus problematic with my router requiring the
setup of a virtual server port to a specific ip - works well now though.
