Now I am completely confused. I, too, prefer to sub-divide my apps into
function folders.
I don't even know what you folks are talking about when you refer to "the
right side of
the dock" - I am presuming you mean the right side of the desktop with the dock
at the
bottom.

So far I have placed my dock to the left because I prefer to use the extra
length on my
screen to increase window sizes on the net so I see full screens without the
need to
scroll. I have a 19" monitor and I still find that I am always scrolling
anyway.

Now, in the past I had used hierarchical menus and placed my apps folder (with
subfolders
- communications, browsers, graphics, games, etc -) so I just scrolled to my
preference
that way. It sounds now that there is some new function in OS X that
replicates this from
a folder directly - but it involves the right mouse button.

I have just asked a question about reprogramming the keys of my mouse and now
I'm
completely confused that I will be losing these new functions if I do so. Now
I am really
sorry I put the mouse question into a new thread since it is clearly tied to
this "set up"
issue.
