I don't even know what you folks are talking about when you refer
to "the right side of
the dock" - I am presuming you mean the right side of the desktop
with the dock at the
bottom.
Look closely at the dock! You will see a vertical line between the
trash can and the area where the apps that you can launch is. If you
drag anything over there like a hyperlink, a link to a folder or
whatever, it'll be there for you to use as you wish. Everything to
the left of that LINE is for applications. Like I just said, LOOK at
the dock and look for the line. Right side is for links and folder
links etc.
