Which will only work as long as the site is
hosted in a country where Apple can find viable

Well, it's far from clear that everyone and
their brother will be able to do it. It becomes
that easy, yes, Apple's profits may dip, and in
that case, they'll have to take more affirmative
measures to stop this from happening.
Unfortunately, this means Windows-like
registration of the OS or TPM tying the copy of
the software to the system, instead of the honor
system we have today.
Ain't it fun when thieves spoil the party? And
that's all these people are, are thieves, imo.
While I don't condone copyright infringement,
maybe this is the kick in the pants Apple needs
to be forced to join the 21st Century. Like the
MPAA/RIAA, they're clinging to an outdated
licensing model that's just plain old stupid in
this day and age.
Add some registration to the OS and sell it at a reasonable price.
