The other aspect of this is that the software companies only cater to
one platform. If you don't use the platform for which they program
you have to either give up or find other ways of using their software.

What would very helpful is a standardized repository of the scrolls
(i.e., HTML version) in translation, and, if possible, the original
texts as well. I don't begrudge the DJD editors one bit of their
royalties -- they are worth every last bit of them. As it stands now,
though, if one does not own these programs, one must either own the
DJD volumes or live near a very good library to access them.

This situation makes me thankful for the CAL project at HUC Cincinnati
and Perseus at Tufts. CAL is gradually making all of QA available
with complete parsings, etc. I only wish someone would do it for QH
as well.

Does anyone know if one violates copyright by agreeing with a reading
in one's work and publishing that to the web?

Best,
Al
