I have already tested in 2002 if Barbara actually is able (or willing) to
identify a simple midrashic test "pesher" in the Gospel of Matthew. The
common structure of a pesher and its retrospective anchorage into the Hymns
of 1QH via "teacher" catchword mechanism was apparently completely unknown
to her - the so-called "pesher technique" is thus nothing but an acceptable
reading into the texts. Needless to say that I was directly crucified on her
list for this - with two other "robbers" in good Jesus Christus fashion,
whereas the administrator of her list played the Pontius Pilatus...
NB Tell her people that not the tense of the sentence determines the
understanding of the 390 years passage in CD, but the fact that the
ancestors of the yahad were not exiled to Babylon!!! They made their exile
into the "wilderness of the people" already at the pre-stage of the military
approach of the "Assyrians" acc. to the "Threat Song against Asshur" in the
Book of Isaiah (Is10.5-12.6) by "walking on the Isaiah Trail" (Is 40.3 in:
1QS 6.13f.)
The 390 years thus douibtlessly start in 538 BC and we reach then the stasis
of Eleazar (the Mechoqeq) versus Hyrcan I, when the latter tried to gain the
triple office of arche, HP and "prophet like Moses". Consequence of the
unexpected compromise that followed the stasis was the split made by the
later ToR and the falcons from the mechoqeq movement in ~127 BC. For Judah
had to face the wrath acc. to Ez 4:5-6 for fourty years, I'd expect another
twenty years after 127 BC before the ToR has started with his public actions
either to fulfill the 40 years for Judah, to reach the necessary age of a
mosaic Doresh ha-Torah or to wait until the mechoqeq as Doreh ha-Torah has
passed, i.e ~ 107 BC. Two of such "teachers" at the same time are to be
rejected as a double-occupancy of the deuteronomic office of the
authoritative "prophet like Moses". Cf. De 17-18, esp. De 18.18; Num 12.6-8;
cp Aaron's role in Le 16.2 and Eleazar's inauguration of Joshua in Num
12.6-8.
