Greg,

My sympathies.  Mr. Goranson has similarly posted that my views on Pesher Habakkuk "follow Barbara Thiering," which is a somewhat odd as history of scholarship given that I have never read anything of Thiering's and have never cited her in footnotes or in list discussions.  Well, actually, one time I did see a book of hers in a bookstore and opening it at random read the remarkable assertion that an incident in the gospels involving Jesus on a fishing boat actually took place on the Dead Sea.  I had always heard that fishing was not a very lucrative line of business, it being Dead and all.  This dissuaded me from further sampling her scholarship, Goranson's assertions notwithstanding.

Best regards,
Russell Gmirkin
For the record, the claim of Stephen Goranson on 29 Sept 2006 that
I highlighted the Hyrcanus II/TR theory on a Barbara Thiering
list is a fabrication.
