I have a 667 MHz G4 DA configured for 1.25 GB memory: one 256MB and two 512 MB. Three weeks ago, I tried to replace the 256MG with 512MG memory. It turned out that the replacement memory did not like my G4 and vice versa no matter what slot I tried it in.
When I restored the original memory, the same thing happened as you described. I tried depressing the 'on/off' switch on the case and after several seconds the G4 turned off. After waiting about 15 seconds and switched it back on. Same problem. After two more such cycles, it booted up correctly and I've had no problems since. I can't explain it; just reporting. I'll give that a shot, thanks Peter. Just a message from Doug... On Sep 1, 2008, at 2:04 PM, Peter wrote: > > I have seen a similar behavior on my G4 just recently.
