Your problem isn't hardware, it's software. Flash is crap. At least
it is on a Mac. Adobe and even Macromedia both left the Mac version
way behind the PC in terms of performance and it's not all that great
on the PC as it is. This is one of the main reasons why the iPhone
doesn't have flash support (and subsequently, that's one of the
reasons why the iPhone was able to load web pages so much faster than
its competition).

Anyway... there is a beta version of the latest flash player on the
web somewhere. I don't recall where it's at, but I believe it
supported PPC systems as well as Intel Macs. If you google around and
install it, you should see a significant performance increase. This
version is touted by Adobe as being significantly improved performance-
wise. I think they got the message after Job's refused to let them on
the iPhone.

Alternately, there is a script that you can save as a bookmark and
load on each YouTube page. When the script runs, it loads a Quicktime
version of the YouTube video, which should be much higher quality.
Then you can just zoom in to see it larger. Command-Option-8 to turn
zooming on, Command-Option-("plus" and "minus") to zoom in/out.
