I know I had problems running full-screen Youtube video on my old
Sawtooth with a 1GHz upgrade and a nice video card. However, on my Mac
mini G4 (1.25 GHz) at work, I have no problems playing Youtube video
full screen, even the high quality stuff. This tells me that either a)
1 Ghz won't cut it or b) your resolution is set too high for your CPU
+ video card to handle. Given that you're watching on a 24" monitor, I
strongly suspect b) is your problem. Try reducing your resolution to
something small (maybe 1280x800) and see if your playback doesn't
improve.
