Hi Dan, Thanks for the info and the ChyronoSync input. I bought it back in 2005 and used it to keep my design work folder current between two machines. It has worked flawlessly for that for 3 years. I do use it also to sync my pix between two drives. The only time I do have permissions issues is when I try to sync something in the root library.
Since I want to keep the 2nd drive bootable and current I thought I'd look into one of the other two products. Can't remember why I discounted them back then, especially when I friend bought SD on my recommendation. I'll see what they say about Version 4 though for the hell of it. Thanks!
