What about LED backlighting vs. fluorescent? Fluorescent can and will change with time and eventually burn out. LED should stay constant and last almost forever. I saw a recent review that said something like 20% of all laptop LCD will be LED backlit this year, and they anticipate that will go to over 80% in the next two years, and fluorescent will be extinct soon after.
