Had the same at work: IT reported a dead MoBo, despite my protestations 
that a new MoBo battery was needed - the one in there was 7 years old!!.

Anyway, whilst they were trying to source a QS MoBo, I replaced the 
battery and all's well again.

It's not an expensive "try this first", and it could be the answer.
