I went on in ... and took my newly acquired G4/400 Yikes! all apart ... taking digital pics as I went through the process.
Maybe I'll document it for others? Thanks for the Tips: Goo Gone (early mix), the need to take it all apart to get to the inner clips for the sides, don't force anything (wiggle here and there), if you find mud: don't give up (I found black soot), use something orange for cleaning fluid (also used Orange 409), take pictures, take it outside to blow dust (and other things) out, don't get mad at the cat or the dog (or your partner), use plenty of light from multiple directions, put the screws removed in some kind of order, watch out for sharp edges ... Took better part of an afternoon, and evening up until 2AM ... with a break for dinner. About 11-12 hours from disassembly to reassembly (I may have fallen asleep some during the process) ... Its working great after a new PRAM battery. Thanks again for the encouragement.
