Yes it does make it seem that way, but if the plural of anecdote is  
not data, the SINGULAR of anecdote sure as hell isn't.

That's bullshit, flat out. I don't care how sloppy Apple's phone tech  
support has gotten (and they've gotten sloppy...I've heard many  
reports of 'Well re-install OS X' to fix problems...the problem with  
that is that there are a LOT of problems that a re-install is not  
necessary for or will not fix.) they're not that bad.

That article is biased as all hell; they cherry picked one example of  
ONE manufacturer.
