Sorry 'bout the previous message...misclicked.

The only time I'll do an erase and install is when I'm setting up a  
system for a new owner. Otherwise Archive&install gives you all the  
benefits of erase& install when it comes to the system and all the  
benefits of upgrade when it comes to preserving user stuff.

The only thing you need to re-install are drivers and preference panes.

Doing an erase and install to upgrade a system is just masochism from  
my point of view. Some people recommend it to "clean up the disk". My  
opinion is that OS X is a robust filesystem, and if you need to "clean  
up the disk" fix THAT problem before installing the new OS version.

Especially since your system is in good running condition, just go the  
A&I way.
