Note that Archive and Install can mess up some programs. For example, for Parallels users, it will place Parallels into "previous systems". Apps that make heavy use of Library items, caches, and Application support items- these seem to be more impacted by Archive and Install. Also I always wonder about how the Apple A and I process deals with Apple Software updates- immediately after running A and I, before doing anything else, I immediately get all available OS updates...
