I don't think I'll need it, but I'm not quite sure.
Hoping my Appleworks 6 will still function on 10.4. It's an OSX app,
but then so is PS7 and it doesn't work on the new iMac. So am not sure
exactly how this transition will go.
Intel iMac 2.4gHz Core 2 Duo
1GB RAM, 250GB Hard Drive, OS 10.5.5
G4 Quicksilver 733mHz Tower
896 MB RAM, 40 GB hard drive, OS 10.2.8>
1. You WILL be able to run Classic Mode on OS X Tiger (10.4.x), on your
G4 Quicksilver 733, IF you ALSO have OS 9 also installed on your
Quicksilver. I still use AppleWorks 6 -- on both my G4 Quicksilver 867
and G3/800 iBook both of which run OS X 10.4.9 with OS 9.2.2 installed as
well.
2. Appleworks 6 is not OS X native. It will only run in OS X with
Classic, and to run Classic, you need to have OS 9 installed somewhere on
your Quicksilver. 9.2.2 was optimized to run with OS X, but I've read you
can still use OS 9.1 or 9.2.1 to run Classic under OS X.
3. You WILL NOT be able to run Classic Mode on your iMac, EVER. The Intel
Macs do not support Classic.
I don't know what PS7 is, so I can't tell you if it requires Classic or
not. If it does, you'll never be able to run that on your iMac or any
other Macintel.
Good luck!
