Hi, I can't contribute to this topic but I have a similar problem concerning CCC and Firewire drives.
I used to be able to boot from all my external FW disks but now only the one with the Oxford chip will start up, my Initio-chip FW-disks won't boot anymore. I'm flummoxed ... It doesn't matter if I use the old or new versions of CCC, Tiger system volumes or Panther vols. I checked permissions on those disks, they were set to "ignore permissions" and even when I changed them to my admin account they refuse to boot. I'm quite sure they did before as I always test my fresh clones after making them. Using the latest MDD Mac with the latest Tiger and Panther systems.
