There are add on apps that work under 10.5.5 on PPCs but not on Intels ... drivers for M-Audio's Audiophile 2496 PCI card that I have in my Quicksilver Dual 1GHz is one. Blue Screen freezes are discussed in this Apple Support article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1545 It might read "after installing Leopard 10.5.5". Any way ... bad RAM started my kp and blue screen problem awhile ago, and it was compounded by the mystery of 10.5.5. After discovering and removing a bad RAM stick (using Rember), I've gotten around additional Startup and Restart difficulties by turning off Auto Login in the System Preferences > Accounts window. It stops at the Login Window, I enter my Password, and Startup completes. Otherwise, it freezes at the blue screen or crashes, once throwing me into Open Firmware ... all on a QS 2002 Dual 1GHz under Leopard 10.5.5.
