Repair Permissions only fixes very specific errors that will ONLY occur immediately after installing a system update or permissions have been hosed by inexpert hacking around in Terminal. > and > ran TechTools, which rated "passed" on all tests. While in Disk Utility check the SMART status of your drive. If it says Failed, BACK UP YOUR STUFF and replace the drive,it's on the way out. If the SMART status is OK and Disk Utility cannot fix the problems, Disk Warrior may be able to fix things. Otherwise, back up your stuff, if needed, and nuke&pave the drive: reformat, re-install 10.5, and all updates and restore your stuff. -- Bruce Johnson University of Arizona College of Pharmacy Information Technology Group Institutions do not have opinions, merely customs --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed Low End Mac's G3-5 List, a group for those using G3, G4, and G5 desktop Macs - with a particular focus on Power Macs.
