In order to get USB 2.0 functionality on my G4 MDD 2003 1.25GHz
tower, I installed a USB 2.0 PCI card.

After initially working well, devices (two iPods and three flash
drives) plugged in to the ports on the card would not mount on the
desktop. Apparently they were not recognized, as when I unplugged
them I did not get any "Device Removal" warning.

This happened with three different cards; the first was an Adaptec
3200, the second I don't remember, and the current one is an IO Gear
card. I have tried installing the cards in different slots and it
makes no difference.

When the machine is rebooted, the cards work again for awhile (time
period varies) before once again failing.

Any and all suggestions appreciated. Thanks.
