I agree with Jo entering the serial number at
<http://www.chipmunk.nl/klantenservice/applemodel.html>
will give the all the specific model and configuration information of a
particular computer.

There are also two Apple Knowledge Base articles that give means to generally
identify PowerMac G4 desktops. They include a graphic views (Yikes thru DA and
the MDD) of the back panel ports and how they differ. They also provide a very
good tabulated comparison of all the specifications of all G4 models.

<http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3082?viewlocale=en_US>
for Yikes through DA and:

<http://support.apple.com/kb/TA25585?viewlocale=en_US>
for QuickSilver through MDD --glen
