My old Studebaker will run even when the Iranians drop that surprise
neutron bomb. Consider that the two ton beast gets up to 25mpg too.
Even my gen II Honda Civic can be quickly converted to points 'n
condenser and that gets 42mpg in mixed driving.

As regards Apple's laptops: I consider each journey into them, except
the Pismo and Lombard, a challegene against Apple. Sticking it to them
as they obviously do not want people in them, based on how they pack
'em. But the zeal is draining...I've now for 4 months been dreading
opening up an iBook with the dreaded video problem. And yes, I know
about ifixit.

I had a 466 MHz clamshell with a paltry 10GB drive. I was lucky in that
I conned a local Mac Guru to change it out to a 120GB. Freakin' HD was
the last item in the case access-wise.
