Yes. Some older Firewire enclosures (pre-2003) have the 128GB limit, but all modern ones are not limited. The newest enclosures are made for SATA HDs but are much more expensive than the older ones that use PATA HDs unless you buy an OEM external combo unit. A few PATA Firewire enclosures are not bootable, but they are rare and have chipsets by Genesys Logic or Prolific. Newer ones are all bootable AFAIK.
