Based upon the indicia on the ROMs, the PS is indeed real Adobe PS.
It is a relatively late version, too. 20xx.xxxx or something.

The LJ4 comes with no JetDirect card and with no accessory RAM cards,
but with 2 MB of on-motherboard RAM.

The PS card takes one RAM slot, leaving three free RAM slots for
expansion RAM.

I believe 4 MB or 8 MB RAM cards are supported, for a maximum
possible RAM of 14 MB (4 MB cards) or 26 MB (8 MB cards).

The JetDirect card has a microprocessor, but it does not have
PostScript on it. The microprocessor is there solely to manage the
LocalTalk or Ethernet ports.

I have both LocalTalk + Ethernet and Ethernet only JetDirects. I
prefer the Ethernet only cards.

The LJ4+ takes a different JetDirect card than the LJ4. Probably a
different PS card, too.

Not withstanding the fact that the 4M's PostScript is "true Adobe",
it suffers a lot more PS failures (path overflows, etcetera) than
does the Apple LaserWriter Pro 630 or 16/600.

I run my LJ4M with 14 MB of RAM.
