It'll be cheaper to sell the SATA HD get a 500 GB PATA HD and use it
instead. To use the SATA HD you'll need an SATA PCI controller card
that's bootable (I'm assuming you mean to boot from it?). If you don't
need to boot, and don't need OS 9, there are inexpensive SATA cards
that aren't bootable, most using a Silicon Image chipset and special
OS X extensions to enable the card (hence, not bootable). You can get
a non-bootable card for $15-20 shipped on eBay. OWC has bootable
Firmtek cards for about $70-75 shipped, but again, the PATA HD is
cheaper (after you sell the SATA) and just as fast.
