MDD Dual 1.25 1GB RAM Using latest 'webkit' --- [problem also shows up with Firefox]
Running Activity Monitor continuously. Dialup Internet connection (to watch transfer speeds) Downloading "installed-ps3-minimal-20071212-r1.iso" From "http://gentoo.osuosl.org/experimental/ppc64/livecd/"; On 'Activity Monitor' a strange Process shows up. "175 PACE (Not Responding)" Googled PACE, found that it May be 'download ownership/ permission/ whatever' Experimentation does show that it is associated with the 'downloading opertation' It is possible to 'Quit Process', whereupon, Python makes a brief appearance in the 'process list'. The 'Quit Process' also kills the download operation. Oh yeah, after a bit (3 ~ 5 minutes), " 357 python (Not Responding)" shows up and stays on the 'process list" Subsequent Re-Start of the download, does NOT get the PACE process, (but the python (Not Responding) is there. Figuring that the 'Not Responding' means that there are very little resources being wasted, I'll let the download continue (Killing 'python' may do in the download. At the present time, it's got 6.3 of 275 MB (3.3 KB/sec) Internet connect says the connection is "34667 bps", information from the 'Activity screen' indicates packets @ (present time, while writing this) 3.66,3.69,5.30,3.0 ---- most at 3.66 but the 'retrain' gets things all over the ballpark'. Supposedly another 22 hours, 42 minutes remaining.
