Let it run until finished. Just ran 'Software Update' from 'Apple' drop down (UL corner of screen). Time taken seems about normal. Download activity didn't seem all that much. The 'Annoying Behavior' download was more data over a longer period of time. Since I was able to 'kill' it, AND it wasn't trying to upload anything, I'll be satisfied just watching for re-occurrences. Thanks for the thoughts. They seem logical, but I don't think tat was what was going on this time.
